04. Library in Matosinhos
The
condition for the construction of a Municipal Library in the park was
to permit the public use of the surrounding green space and at the same
time keep the identity of that park. We designed a library buried in
the park and lightened by patios on a lower level. We access the
library by a small glass volume on the surface.
While some read in the lower patios under the sun, others relax on the surface over the green cover.
