Our architects practice was hired to design a retirement community investment in Portugal, Paredes. The site was a farm with Portuguese traditional architecture. Newly constructed buildings are always better suited to the functional needs of an senior residence. However, there is a symbolic side to old buildings that promotes a sense of belonging in the elderly.
