House restoration in Portugal, Malta

Our architects were hired to design a project aiming to adapt the Portuguese popular architecture of the late XIX century to the present needs of a contemporary family. The old building alteration and extension maintains all the language of the past, but upgrades the spaces with the present constructive techniques, which allows a bigger comfort to the user. And the memories return between the abandoned fields of Malta…

The construction specifications for the restoration of the house

We renovated the construction with contemporary methods. The existing building was very dilapidated due to several inappropriate interventions. Therefore, we use concrete and steel structures. However, we did it so as not to disturb the atmosphere and image of the house. At the same time, geothermal underfloor heating and highly thermally efficient frames and glass were installed.
The past thus gains new life among the abandoned fields of the parish of Malta, Vila do Conde.
