We were commissioned to recover an important old ceramics factory and to adapt it to an extensive cultural, sports and business use. We can say that it’s a conversion of an old industry building into a new modern shopping centre with cultural and sports facilities. We Tried to reinterpret the logic of the building, extending its structure with the same original pragmatism. The architecture of the new spaces is thus sober and modular. The shopping project objectives
Shopping centers today need anchor stores but also services that create centrality. In this project, we were asked to build a swimming pool, a shopping area, a restaurant area and a museum area. Each of these programs has a highlighted volume. We fit these volumes into the old facades of the Arganil ceramics factory. Outside, we have parking. With this project we proved that it was possible to install a commercial program in an old factory, thus generating a sophisticated environment for consumers and value for shareholders.
